Dean Talafous was drafted by the Atlanta Flames in 1973, 4th round, 54th overall from the Wisconsin Badgers. As a big man at 6'4" he used his frame to create space for himself in the slot and win battles for the puck along the boards. This beautiful defunct style game used heavy durene jersey from the Atlanta Flames short lived time in the NHL, is a reminder of old-time hockey. When Talafous wore this Rawlings size 52 white home durene jersey during the 1974-75 season, he was a rookie having just arrived at the NHL level. This gamer shows nice wear with major sweat stains on the back all over the area just on top of the numbers. Some blood stains are also present in that area with a black stick mark on the 2 and some on the hem, that also has some nice red board paint transfer. The front right shoulder has more washed-out blood staining with an unrepaired hole above the Flames crest. Nice crinkling to the logo with blood stains also present down the front with a nice stick mark and more blood remnants on the white hem. The right arm at the cuff has 2 unrepaired holes, more blood, and a nice board burn. The left arm has lots of blood stains with a couple of black marks to mention. Inside out, the Rawlings Tag, consistent with jerseys from the 74-75 season, is sewn in with a fight strap also secured down the lower back below the number 24. The blood stains that show on the front are more prevalent on the inside. On November 6, 1974, Talafous fights Clark Gillies, and this might be where all the blood came from. Really nice wear considering as a rookie, he only suited up for 18 games before being traded to the Minnesota North Stars on January 3, 1975. These Flames jersey don't come up often as these logos are highly desired by defunct and vintage collectors. All original, this one is sure to attract attention from bidders looking for this very cool style from the seventies. Dean Talafous scored his first NHL goal on December 12, 1974, at Washington in a 2-2 tie. It was the only goal Talafous scored as an Atlanta Flame. Talafous played 18 games for the Flames before being traded to the Minnesota North Stars. In international hockey he played for the United States in the 1976 Canada Cup and 1981 Canada Cup. In 1978 Talafous signed as a free agent with the New York Rangers. He played in 497 games in the NHL, scored 104 goals and 154 assists.
