A pair of sunglasses personally owned by actor Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen was an American actor and film icon, born on March 24, 1930 who tragically passed away on November 7, 1980. He was known for his roles in classic films such as "The Great Escape" (1963), "Bullitt" (1968), and "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1968). This pair of Folding Persol Tortoise Sunglasses were obtained from McQueen’s Optician, Dennis Roberts who made the pair for McQueen. These are the same sunglasses McQueen wore in the Bullit and The Thomas Crown Affair. The brown frames have folding temples that fold inward and match to the other pairs McQueen wore during that period. The sunglasses are vintage and delicate - the successful bidder should take care with them and understand that they are not meant to be worn but rather to be displayed. They are accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Dennis Roberts and a Certificate of Authenticity from Studio Auctions
